SOLID.

Life can be overwhelming and sometimes just downright hard.  I have been going through a tough season in life. While talking with someone I am close to, who has also been going through a tough season, the word solid came up. Well, that word sure stuck with me. I have pondered the word for a while, and after engaging in numerous conversations, conducting multiple revisions, and lots of research,
I finally landed on...

I am S.O.L.I.D. because of Jesus.

To serve as a reminder to stand on a firm foundation and build my life like the wise man who built his house on the rock, as well as an encouragement, especially during hard times.

The acronym I came up with for S.O.L.I.D. is

Sanctified, Obedient, Loved, Invited, Delivered.

Sanctified ~ 1 Corinthians 6:11 NIV

And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Obedient ~ 2 John :6 NIV

And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands.  As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.

Loved ~ John 15:9 NIV

"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you.  Now remain in my love.

Invited ~Matthew 11:28-30 NIV

28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Delivered ~ 2 Timothy 4:18 NIV

The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom.  To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Life is unpredictable; circumstances may be less than ideal, and sometimes life is flat-out exhausting.  Choosing to live S.O.L.I.D. because of Jesus, reminds me that Jesus is my firm foundation (1 Corinthians 3: 11) and that He cannot be moved, which provides me with stability and JOY!

During hard times, what are the things you cling to the most? Is it something unsteady, where you can lose your footing at any moment, or is it something that is going to help you stand SOLID?
